The controller also offers tips on wiring, such as the ability to wire panels in series, parallel, or a combination of both.

The Renogy Rover 40A MPPT Solar Charge Controller can accept input of up to 520W for a 12V system and up to 1040W for a 24V system. It does not have a built-in 40A fuse for the rated 40A load output, so users should always add a fuse between the charge controller and batteries, matching the fuse size to the amperage rating of the charge controller.

Renogy's MPPT technology, known as Power Catcher MPPT algorithm, ensures that the charge controller converts the most energy by locking to the most optimal maximum power point. The Rover Series charge controllers have a Nominal System Voltage of 12/24V Auto-Detect, a Max. PV Input Voltage of 100 VDC, and a Rated Charge Current of 40A. They also feature electrical protection, including overcharging, over-discharging, overload, and short circuit, and are capable of charging over-discharged lithium batteries.
